Conviction in Stabbing Case

Geary County Attorney Steve Opat has confirmed that Jason Babylon, 34, Junction City has gavel been convicted in Geary County District Court of one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder  plus three counts of Aggravated Battery.

Pleas to the charges were entered Thursday.

The allegations stemmed from an August 2013 incident where four people were stabbed at the Sixth and Jackson St. intersection in Junction City.

Opat stated during the early morning hours ( Aug. 12 ) Babylon was walking down a street. “Believed he was verbally accosted by a couple of girls. Their boyfriends came to their aid whereupon Mr. Babylon apparently drew a knife and began slashing and stabbing people.”

Four people were stabbed.

Sentencing in the case is set for 11 a.m. July 16.
