ACCT Takes Over Former Cap Gemini Building

Advanced Call Center Technologies has officially taken over the lease for the call center building off of Spring Valley Road in Junction City.

ACCT is an outsource call center provider with a clientele list that includes ACCT BUILDINGtwo of the worlds largest financial service businesses, and one of the worlds largest telecommunications companies.

The building, which has sat vacant for a number of years was full of activity Monday morning according to Susan Jagerson, EDC Specialist with the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce.

“They’re getting the computers hooked up, they’re getting the telephone lines hooked up. There were plumbers in there, electricians in there, security people in there setting up the security system,” Jagerson said.

Overall ACCT plans to employ as many as 625 employees but at the moment have hired just 35 employees to begin with.

“Right now their first training class is about 35 people. They are looking right now to hire about 60 to 80 more and getting that up and going. Then get up to about 100 to 150 by the end of the year and just keep growing as their business grows.”

Having that many employees will be a big economic impact on the community. Jagerson said that a site selector said about a month ago at a conference that a 400 employee call center can have about a $1 million annual impact on a community.

Right now ACCT is conducting their training at Cloud County Community College Geary County Campus until their computers are hooked up.
