The annual Junction City Police Department Block Party is Friday evening in Heritage Park.

The event begins at 5:00 p.m., and a dinner, donated by local business’s, will be served at 5:30 p.m. according to Captain Chuck Leithoff with the JCPD.

“We’re going to have several displays out there, several presentations ranging from a taser demonstration, K-9 demonstration and a S.W.A.T. demonstration,” Capt. Leithoff said.

Additional entertainment will be provided by Jason Divad. He will put on his “One Man Fire Circus” from 8:00 to 8:45 p.m.. They will finish the evening with a movie in the park at 9:00 p.m. and they will show the movie “Planes.”

“This is a community event were we invite the community out to get to know the police officers and see what kind of equipment we have at our disposal.”

The event is completely free to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.
