The Junction City Police Department has identified the soldier discovered dead from a gunshot wound Monday at 1731 North Park Dr., apartment five as Shawn Michael Thomas, 26.  He was assigned to 31st, Av, E Co., Ft. Riley.

Lieutenant Jeff Childs said the incident is still under investigation and an autopsy was scheduled on Tuesday afternoon.

Police and EMS had responded to a report of a shooting at the residence Monday and found Thomas deceased from an apparent single gunshot wound.
