According to a release from the Junction City Police Department a 26 year old Fort Riley Soldier was found dead Monday.

Members of the JCPD and EMS responded to 1731 North Park Dr. apartment #5 in reference to a subject that had been shot. Upon arrival the soldier was found deceased with an apparent single gunshot wound.

The identity of the soldier has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy will be scheduled.

No other information is being released at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
