Police Chief Tim Brown said the first was operation “Adabag”, the joint investigation into narcotics trafficking here in the Riley – Geary County areas that occurred on May 8,2013. The Police Department received the Bronze Award from the Chiefs of Police Association.

“The Junction City – Geary County Drug Operations Group also received the Bronze Award also for the investigation into the homicide of Crystal Fisher in March of 2010, and subsequently arrest and conviction of those responsible for that, including the narcotics trafficking they were involved in.”

Brown noted it’s nice to be recognized.  “We’ve gone through a lot since 2009, and I think to be able to have your folks up there on the podium like that to accept an award for the hard work they do, and the efforts they make to make our city safe speaks well of them, and it’s nice to have that reward once in awhile.”
