The Geary County Sheriff’s Department, seeking to undertake more community involvement, has presented a citizenship award to a graduating senior at Junction City High School.
Sheriff Tony Wolf made the presentation of the Geary County Sheriff’s Department Outstanding Youth Citizenship award during the Senior Awards Night assembly to Hunter Seech.
Wolf stated the scholarship is intended to recognize a graduating senior who possesses certain traits and behaviors. “Like humility, faithfulness, discipline, loyalty, and integrity.”
Wolf stated the Sheriff’s Department had the faculty at JCHS nominate students that they thought best fit into those traits and behaviors. The Sheriff and his command staff then selected the scholarship recipient from the list of students who were nominated.
