The Geary County Commission met with Ranson Financial’s leading bond counsel Monday to discuss re-financing the bond used for the 2006 jail project.
The Commission discussed re-financing last year but held off according to
Commission Chair Larry Hicks.
“At that particular time we were just simply laying back because we were in a position to be able to experience some good rates on the be half of tax payers in the county at that time,” Hicks said.
This year it may be appropriate to consider re-financing but that decision was not made during Monday’s meeting.
They will consider at a later date whether or not to move forward with adopting a new sales resolution or repeal the existing one and adopt a new one for 2015.
