The 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley will welcome a contingent of veterans from World War II’s famed Battle of the Bulge, for a tour on May 14.

The Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944 was the costliest single battle for the Allies in World War Ii, and was Germany’s final desperate attempt to turn the tide of war in its favor following the DDay Invasion the previous June.

The visit will feature a welcome from garrison commander Col. Andrew Cole, a trip to the battle simulators, lunch in the dining facility, and a visit to the post museums.
