A brand new Kansas lawyer Harrison ( Tre ) Spencer III was sworn in Friday morning in Judge Steven Hornbaker’s courtroom at the Geary County Courthouse.

Municipal Court Judge Michael McKone said Spencer presently works in the City prosecutor’s office as a legal intern.   “In the courtroom Judge Hornbaker was in the middle of a heavy criminal docket. We had made arrangements for him at 10 o’clock to step down from the bench, administer the oath,  he made some introductory remarks and welcomed Tre to the Kansas bar.”

Spencer recently moved to the area with his wife Capt. Katherine Spencer, who is a JAG Officer at Fort Riley.

“It was an exciting day. I really appreciate everyone doing this for me.” Spencer added, “I was a little bit nervous, but everyone was very nice and I really appreciate them.” Spencer added in the future he would like to work as a prosecutor.
