Fort Riley Bank of America Branch to Close in July

The Fort Riley Bank of America branch located at 227 W 18th St in Junction City will close it’s doors on July 25th.

Diane Wagner, Bank of America Spokeswoman, explained they will be Screen-Shot-2014-04-29-at-1.41.22-PM.pngclosing due to the decrease in transactions at that location.

“This decision to close this particular location was driven primarily by a decline in transactions, as were seeing those customers doing more of their banking on other channels including mobile banking and online banking,” Wagner said.

Wagner went on to say that it is her understanding that there will be no job loss and they will be looking to transition their employees into other avenues within the bank.

Bank of America will also be selling eleven other branches in Kansas. Those branches are located in Caney, Coffeyville, Emporia, Great Bend, Hays, Hutchinson, Independence, Lindsborg, McPherson and Salina.

The sale of those branches was an attempt to preserve jobs according to Wagner.

“Those jobs for those employees will be preserved and they will be going to other banking institutions that are acquiring those banks.”

The sales of those banks are expected to close this summer.
