A wildlife fence construction project at Manhattan Regional Airport has been completed.
It included installation of approximately 19,000 feet of 8-foot-tall perimeter fence. This segment of nearly three miles of fence is the final installation of fencing that provides a protective barrier around the entire airport. It is intended to ensure deer and other large animals do not stray onto airport grounds.
The total project cost was $988,886. It was funded through the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program with a 90/10 funding split between the FAA and the City of Manhattan.
