The Geary County Rural Fire and Grandview Plaza Fire Departments responded to a fire about 2 a.m. Sunday.
According to Rural Fire Chief Garry Berges it occurred at the 11625 J Hill Road residence of Ty and Sharon Glessner.
There were no injuries.
Berges said the fire was contained to a laundry room area. He estimated damage to that room in the $5,000 to $8,000 range.

There was a second fire call for the Geary County Rural Fire Department about 10 a.m. Sunday. They responded to the Glen Taylor residence in the 7000 block of Red Road for a possible structure fire. They found a leak in a propane line going into the house.
Berges confirmed there was minor damage, less than $1,000 in the basement area. He said there was still some smoldering when firefighters arrived on the scene.
No injuries were reported.
