Geary County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a non-injury traffic accident on I-70 at mile marker 295 on the southwest side of Junction City on Friday.

The Sheriff’s Department reported that Christina Brungardt of Hays was eastbound on the Interstate in the passing lane while while operating her Dodge Grand Caravan. Darrell Bowen Jr. of Junction City was traveling in the opposite lane in the same direction operating his Chevrolet Camaro when he attempted to pass another vehicle in front of him, and sideswiped Brungardt’s vehicle. No injuries were reported at the scene as a result of the accident.

The Sheriff’s Department also reported that Deputies responded to I-70, mile marker 293 west of Junction City Friday evening for a single vehicle non-injury accident with a deer. Alexander Melius of Topeka was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis, traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported.
