The school funding measure approved by the Kansas Legislature would provide about $1.2 million in new funding for Geary USD 475.

That information has been provided by State Representative Allan Rothlisberg of Grandview Plaza.
The measure would also eliminate teacher tenure.
Rothlisberg stated the only place where there is protected employment is in the public sector. “And I’ve never been a fan of that type of protection. It’s not in the private sector, so I think that’s one thing that needed to be taken care of….that we can get rid of teachers who are toxic a little easier, as well as school administrators.
The Legislature has begun their spring break. They will return to work in Topeka on April 30.
