Rural Fire Chief Garry Berges reported they had to respond to multiple grass fires on both Saturday and Sunday. Other fires were reported along I-70, in the Boller Road, Clarks Creek Road areas and near K-57 Highway south. There were also fires on Latke and Lilly Roads southwest of Junction City.

On Saturday the calls came in for fires on Humboldt Creek Road, Clarks Creek Road, Nelson Road off of J-Hill Road, Hawkins-Smith Road off of J-Hill Road.

Berges also noted Dickinson County units responded to several grass major fires, and Riley County authorities worked a major grass fire east of the town of Riley. Fort Riley firefighters were called into assist there.
