Four-H / Senior Center Auction Recap

The annual auction to support the Geary County Four-H / Senior Citizens Center building netted revenue totaling $2,500.four-h auction

That total was released following the auction Saturday night.

Diana Gauntt with the Building Committee reported that a KSU wall quilt sold for $505 to Jane Roether. And a KU wall quilt was sold for $65 to Wendell Wright.

Gauntt provided special acknowledgement for Earl Johnson. “Over the last I don’t know how many years has sold over $12,000 worth of meal tickets to this. That’s quite an accomplishment.”

Pies sold during the auction netted $550. One of those, a pecan pie, was purchased by Ginger Kopfer for $72. That pie was made by Brittany Childs.

Money raised during the auction is used for upkeep of the building. At the present time the final stages of bathroom remodeling are under way in the facility, and some ceiling tile will be replaced as well.
