Obituaries -March 24, 2014

Joseph “Gene” Keating, 76, of Chapman, KS, passed away March 18, 2014, in Topeka, KS.

He worked for Kansas Power and Light (KP&L) for 44 years in Junction City, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Survivors include sons: David Keating and his wife Becky, Dr. Eric Keating and his wife Cindy, and Tracy Keating and his wife Melissa; their mother LaVina Keating. Grandchildren: Mitchell Keating, Laci (Keating) Foltz, Kurtis Keating, and Derrick Keating.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Chapman, KS on Saturday March 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Father Peter O’Donnell will officiate. A private burial of the ashes will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The family will have a visitation with friends at St. Michael’s Parish Center, east of the church in Chapman, KS, on Saturday morning, prior to the funeral, from 9:00 to10:15 a.m.

The Londeen Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be given to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Francis Foundation Critical Care Unit in Topeka, KS, or Eagles Lodge #4319 in Topeka, KS sent in care of the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429, Chapman, KS 67431.
