Wilson Files as Candidate in 64th District

Ben Wilson has filed a republican candidate for the 64th District seat in the Kansas House of Representatives.elections three

Wilson, who lives near Ogden and teaches violin lessons in Manhattan, issued a statement saying he had filed for the House seat.

“I love working with kids, and a I have a passion for education. I want to ensure the best possible future for this next generation by enacting policies at the state level that strengthen the economy, foster job creation, preserve freedom, and enable high-quality education, said Wilson.

Wilson has worked part-time in a state representative’s for the last two sessions.

His filing came a short time after Representative Vern Swanson announced he would not seek reelection to the 64th District seat.

District 64 is comprised of Clay County and parts of Riley County. It includes the cities of Clay Center, Leonardville, Ogden, Riley, Randolph, and Wakefield, plus Fort Riley.  Wilson currently serves as the Republican precinct committeeman for Ogden Township.
