The future will be the big topic at Fridays Flint Hills Regional Council meeting in Alta Vista.

Ben Bennett, FHRC Chairman, said that after restructuring the FHRC in February the focus now will be how to go forward.

“In the fact that we’re going to try to set the pace forward for what we’re going to do as our Director moves from a full time to a part time position. Our Deputy Director, for lack of a better term, is going to move into a more daily routine of managing the office and managing the people in the office into their skill sets and job directions.”

Restructuring the Regional Council is expected to save money, and extend the organization’s ability to operate on current funds a few months longer. Beyond the mid-January 2015 time frame when the HUD grant that provides much of the Council’s funding is due to expire.

Friday’s meeting will start at 9:00 a.m. and will be held at the United Methodist Church in Alta Vista.
