Congressman Holds Town Hall Meeting in Junction City

Congressman Tim Huelskamp held an hour long town hall meeting Monday morning in Junction City.

Huelskamp opened up the meeting by talking about the nations debt. He HUELSKAMP 3-10explained that the United States is $17.5 trillion in debt and that it’s getting bigger everyday.

“There seems to be an unwillingness in Washington of both parties to actually face the problems,” Huelskamp said.”We’ve got growth in medicare, we’ve got growth social security, we have an aging society, we have a flat economy. We need to pass some pro-growth tax reform. We need to pass some reforms that can save and secure medicare and medicaid and social security.”

He went on to say that both parties seem to want to wait until after the election to face the problems but he’s not willing to give up.

“We’ve got to do some things now, we can’t wait till the last minute to solve some really big problems.”
