Juvenile Arrested in USD 475 Internet Case Has Court Appearance

A 15-year old juvenile had his first appearance in Geary County District Court on Wednesday in gavel clip artconnection with the recent USD 475 network outage case that included internet and email service outage problems for multiple days.

According to Assistant Geary County Attorney Lloyd Graham a March 17th arraignment hearing has been scheduled for the youth, who is a USD 475 student. Graham confirmed during arraignment the juvenile can enter a plea of not guilty or guilty to the charges against him. A not guilty plea could possibly result in the setting of a trial.

Graham indicated he planned to file 10 computer crimes charges against the youth in Geary County District Court.

Graham noted during the hearing on Wednesday the juvenile was released to the custody of his mother, with his bond set at $2,500 dollars. The youth was placed on a 24-hour curfew with no access to be allowed to computers or electronics.
