Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat has identified the body found in the water at Tuttle Creek Lake Last Friday ( Feb. 28 ) as that of Jane Peterson, 56, of rural St. George. Peterson had been reported as a missing person by her family on Jan. 19.

Peterson was an employee in the Physics Department at Kansas State University.

Riat said the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office does not suspect foul play in this incident. The cause of death identified by the pathologist in this matter was drowning and hypothermia.
