Geary County rural firefighters responded to a Walla Walla Road location just west of Junction City about 4:50 p.m. Sunday for a house fire .
Rural Fire Chief Garry Berges confirmed there were no injuries in the single story residence fire. “Firefighters got on scene. All that was pretty well left standing was a wall.”
The State Fire Marshall’s Office was contacted to send in an investigator. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
Berges indicated authorities believe the house was vacant. He confirmed it was owned by Rosie Meyer, from the Chapman area. No damage estimate is available at this time.
The Rural Fire Department responded to the scene with five fire trucks and 12 firefighters.
