Manhattan Rolls by Junction City

The Manhattan Indians hit eight 3-point shots enroute to a 94-65 defeat of the Junction City Blue Jays in boys basketball at MHS Tuesday night.kvm

Pierson McAtee was on fire for the Indians in the first half, when he scored 18 points, with 12 coming on 3-point shots. He finished with a game-high 25 points for Manhattan.

The Indians led the Blue Jays by just eight points early in the third quarter but then went on a scoring run that saw them outscore Junction City 27-17 in that period. They never relinquished the lead.

Blue Jay coach Pat Battle said, “They took it to us. There’s just no other way to put it, all facets of the game.” Junction City ( 5-12 ) was led in scoring by Semaj Johnson with 16 points.

Manhattan improved to 11-6 with the win.

In the girls varsity game Manhattan dominated with a 71-21 in over the Junction City Lady Jays.

Junction City jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the beginning of the game. but scored only two points the rest of the first half. They trailed at halftime 33-7.

Manhattan improved to 16-1, while Junction City fell to 3-13.
