The Junction City Police Chief Tim Brown has confirmed that the body found last week in southwest rural Geary County was that of the missing woman, Amanda Clemons, 24. An autopsy was conducted in Kansas City, Kansas, and the cause of death was determined to be sharp force injury. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
Three people have been arrested in the case including Larry Lamathis Anderson, 25, Manhattan on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Conspiracy, Marryssa Monyque Middleton, 22, Colorado on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Conspiracy, and Drexel Alexander Woody, Fort Riley, 23 on suspicion of aiding and abetting a 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Conspiracy.
On Feb. 10 the JCPD had asked for the public’s help in locating Clemons, so that her welfare could be checked. She had last been seen leaving the Budget Host Hotel, room 112, located at 820 South Washington Street in Junction City, on Feb.7 in the evening hours. Police had received information that Clemons was observed being placed in a silver in color vehicle occupied by four people.
