A losing streak that stretched 29 days…nearly a month….came to an end Friday night for the Junction City Blue Jay boys basketball team.
The Blue Jays ( 5-11 ) led for much of the game enroute to a 59-37 win over the Washburn Rural Junior Blues.
Junction City coach Pat Battle said after the game it had been a long time coming for the Blue Jays. “It feels awfully good. I’m just real happy for our kids. I’m proud of their perserverance. I think that’s one of our District educational goals, is to teach kids perserverance, and boy this is a walking example, these last several weeks.”
Ja’Male Morrow and Danny Thornton were co-scoring leaders for Junction City with 9 points apiece.
It was King / Queen of Courts night at JCHS. BLue Jay basketball player Semaj Johnson was named King of Courts and Taylor Collette was named the Queen of Courts.
