The identity of the victim has not been verified, but Brown said the body that was found matches the description of a missing 24-year old Junction City woman Amanda Clemons, “but again we are not 100 percent been able to verify that yet.”

The JCPD had issued a request to the public for help last Monday asking their help in locating Clemons, who was last seen on Friday, Feb. 7 leaving the Budget Host Hotel, room 112, located at 820 South Washington street in Junction City. Police had received information that Clemons was observed being placed in a silver in color vehicle that was occupied by two black males and two black females.

Brown stated Detectives along with Agents from the FBI have been involved in investigating this case. “Based on the investigation that we’ve been conducting we did discover the body of a female last night in rural Geary County, and are currently working that case, and the investigation into it is continuing.”

An autopsy has not yet been scheduled.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the case.  Brown stated Marryssa Monyque Middleton, 22, from Colorado has been arrested on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Conspiracy, and Drexel Alexander Woody, 23, Fort Riley has been arrested on suspicion of  Aiding and Abetting a 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Conspiracy. Formal court charges have not been filed in the case.
