The first day of the Red Cross Blood Drive in Junction City exceeded the goal for the day.

The goal had been set at 70 units.

Blood Drive Coordinator Tom McRae said they collected 69 whole blood and ten double red units for a total of 79.

The Blood Drive continues at the Junction City Municipal Building from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.
