Geary Community Hospital is working with the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation to iron out the funding for improvements to the Martha K. Hoover Women’s Health Center at GCH.
Joe Stratton, GCH CEO, explained that he will be meeting with the
investment committee of the foundation Tuesday afternoon to discuss how much of a donation the foundation wishes to make to the hospital for the project.
Money that the Foundation raised through their annual Holiday Glitz fundraiser held in mid December will go towards the improvement project.
“The price tag that we’re looking at right now is in the neighborhood of just over $100,000 to do the project,” Stratton said.
The Foundation raised over $50,000 dollars for the project at the Holiday Glitz.
Stratton explained that the improvement project will include cosmetic improvements such as new paint, carpet and furniture. It will also include a new Doctor’s sleeping area as well as an area for them to do their medical dictation and a private space as well.
A start date hasn’t been set yet but Stratton expects that to be sometime in March with a completion date sometime in the middle of the summer.
