CVS Pharmacy Opens in Junction City

The new CVS Pharmacy store in Junction City opened for business Sunday morning.

Store Manager Charity Herron cut the ribbon opening the business that has more than 10,000 square feet of inside store space at the southeast corner of the East Chestnut and Washington Street intersection. The pharmacy is a component of this outlet. But Herron noted other items for sale range from groceries to cosmetics. “We actually have probably one of the largest Hallmark ( card ) aisles.”cvs seven

School and office supplies, photo production, and durable medical goods are among other features of the store.

CVS Pharmacy District Manager Doug Bourn said the company is opening three other stores in Kansas in the next two months, in Wichita, Emporia, and Salina. There are more than 50 CVS Pharmacy stores in the Kansas City area.

On the decision to open a store in Junction City, Bourn stated it’s “a great little town.”

Bourn also mentioned the connection with Kolling Pharmacy, which was merged into the CVS Pharmacy operation. “He’s ready to retire. He stepped up to us, asked us to come and help him out, and we gladly accepted.” The majority of the  Kolling Pharmacy staff,  records, and pharmacist Gary Kolling made the transfer over to the new  store.   “His staff is here and we are very excited to have them on board.”

The  economic development staff in the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce also provided assistance on this store project.

The CVS Pharmacy store hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.  seven days per week. The pharmacy hours in the store are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
