At six o’clock Friday night Kolling Pharmacy in Junction City closed it’s doors at 120 North Eisenhower Drive for the final time.

Pharmacist Gary Kolling, the majority of his staff, and records will be transferring to the new CVS Pharmacy located at the southeast corner of the east Chestnut – Washington street intersection.

Kolling called the closing an end to an era,”but Sunday morning we start a whole new era. My staff, most of them, will be with me. They have been like family to me and I hope my customers will stay with me.”

He went on to say that he’s not at retirement age yet but doesn’t know how much longer he will continue. He said merging with CVS was just,”a good move for me.”

A grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new CVS store is Sunday. The Chamber of Commerce will hold the ribbon cutting at 7:45 a.m. Sunday and the store will officially open at 8:00 a.m..
