A Fort Riley soldier has died in an automobile accident on I-70 in Ellsworth County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the victim as Calvin Michalak, 22, Fort Riley.

KHP said Michalak was westbound in his Pontiac G6 on I-70 when for unknown reasons the vehicle entered the center median and struck the concrete bridge pillars. Michalak was not wearing a seat belt.

The accident was reported at 12:26 p.m. on Tuesday.
