Sounds from “The Chosen Four” and the Wiley college A Cappella Choir from Marshall, Texas filled the C. L. Hoover Opera House Sunday evening.
It was part of the weekend’s celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.


The theme for the annual celebration is “Reclaim the Dream….Move Forward.
Monday morning at 10 o’clock there will be a Commemoration ceremony at the Opera House featuring keynote speaker Dr. Jose Soto. That will be followed by a Walk through the downtown going from the Opera House north on Jefferson, east on 8th Street, south on Washington, and back west to the Opera House.
This is the 29th year for the celebration in Junction City, which was first established in 1985 by Ruby Stevens. During the 26 years she oversaw the observance one of the traditions was a march around the block to symbolize the Civil Rights marches of the 1960’s.
