The Regional Leader’s Retreat runs Friday and Saturday at the Sheraton Hotel Overland Park at the Convention Center.

Junction City, Manhattan, and Wamego Chamber of Commerce members will attend the event to discuss topics ranging from regional transportation and land use to strategic branding.
The chairman of the Flint Hills Regional Council and a member of the Geary County Commission Ben Bennett has attended this annual event for several years. “And a lot of people have criticized and ridiculed that nothing happens from it, but I’ve seen a lot of things over the years.” Bennett noted better relationships have been established among the three communities. “We’ve worked together, we’ve gone into the Regional Council together, and we’re now in an MPO together. I think there are just a number of things that regionally we do need to review and discuss.”
The Retreat runs Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
KJCK AM, The Talk of JC will provide coverage with reports from the Retreat on both Friday and Saturday.
