There will be a prescribed burning workshop Jan. 22 at the Rock Springs 4-H Center.

Topics to be discussed will include:

–Reasons for burning

–Notification, regulations & permits ( Flint Hills Smoke Management Plan )

–Dickinson, Geary & Morris County procedures

–Weather

–Liability, using a burn contractor, & burning assistance

–Equipment, hazards, and firebreaks

–Planning and conducting a burn

The cost to attend is $20. That fee includes lunch and a workbook.
