The omnibus appropriations bill being considered by Congress this week contains $404 million for the next round of funding for the National Bio and Agro Defense Facility scheduled to be built in Manhattan.

Senator Jerry Moran expects action on the measure this week. “Good news is that NBAF is included in this omnibus appropriation bill. This bill will be considered by the House of Representatives this week, probably on Wednesday, and the Senate will follow Thursday or Friday with its consideration.” Moran added it is expected to pass and be signed by President Barack Obama.
Moran believes this assures that NBAF will be built. “I think this is the first time that we can say ,almost assuredly, to those people who say will NBAF be built, will it be built in Manhattan, with this appropriation it’s funding is assured.” The senator also stated, “And I think the answer to the question is NBAF going to happen, the answer is yes.”
