MPC Recommends Yes on Final Plat for new Dollar General Store

The Metropolitan Planning Commission in session Thursday night at the Municipal Building recommended approval for a proposed final plat for a new 10,500 square foot Dollar General store on West Sixth Street near the Intrust Bank in Junction City.

David Yearout, Zoning Administrator, said it involves a request to carve off a lot immediately west of the Bank.

Yearout said the plat will need to advance to the Junction City Commission for final action. “That will be delayed until we can get the development agreement details worked out, primarily with respect to relocating the storm sewer that will have to be located, and cleaning up some other language on the face of the plat.

Another issue concerns setbacks off of Sixth Street. There was a concern about the new building not extending too far out closer to the street, and blocking visibility of the Bank.

Those issues are expected to be resolved.
