The Kansas Highway Patrol has reported that a Hope man, David McBride, 67, was taken to Salina Regional Hospital following a one vehicle accident on Friday.

The accident occurred in the 100 block of 1700 Avenue, or one half mile east of the Dickinson County line.

KHP stated that McBride was westbound when after crossing a bridge hit some slush in the roadway. The Ford pickup he was driving ran into the north ditch, McBride overcorrected into oncoming traffic, and reentered the north ditch, vaulting over an embankment into a creek bed.

McBride was wearing a seat belt.
