On January 1st, 2014 a vehicle drove into the parking lot of the St.Mary’s Police Department and an occupant of the vehicle summoned an on duty St. Mary’s PD officer, reporting an individual in the vehicle had suffered a gunshot wound.  

At approximately the same time, 4:43 a.m. Sheriff Dispatch received a 911 call from another individual who was in the same car and reported that a occupant of the car had suffered a gunshot wound.  Along with the St.Mary’s Police Officer who was on scene, Pottawatomie County EMS and Pottawatomie County Sheriff Deputies responded to this call.  It was discovered that the victim, a 24 year old male from Rossville KS was deceased inside the vehicle.

A suspect was quickly developed and detained early in the incident.  Investigation throughout the day led to the arrest of the suspect, Pablo Alberto Gonzalez  a 21 year old male of St.Mary’s KS.  The victim appears to have been a passenger in the Gonzalez vehicle.

Gonzalez is currently being held at the Pottawatomie County Jail, having been probable cause arrested for 2nd degree murder.
