Geary County Sheriff Tony Wolf confirms one man has drowned at Milford Lake.

“What we have right now is we do have a drowning this morning that occurred out on the lake. Gentleman was out duck hunting, and his boat capsized. ”

The incident occurred on the southwest side of Milford Lake.

The sheriff noted the drowning victim was a member of the military.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene including the Geary County Sheriff’s Department, Geary County Emergency Management, Kansas Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism, the Corp of Engineers, Junction City Fire / EMS,  and the Manhattan Fire Department rescue team.
