The arraignment for Lisa Junghans was held Monday morning in Geary County District Court.

During the arraignment Junghans, the former director of the Junction City Geary County Animal shelter, pleaded not guilty to one count of felony theft. She is accused of stealing approximately $40,000 from the animal shelter.
A jury trial has been scheduled for February 19th with a status hearing scheduled for January 31st at 9 a.m. in Geary County District Court.
John Thurston, her attorney, said that the trial will be fairly simple,”either the evidence is there or it isn’t.” He expects the trial to take just one day.
