The Master Teacher Committee of the Junction City Education Association has announced the selection of Daniel Dinkel, 4th grade teacher at Sheridan Elementary, as the JCEA nominee from Geary USD 475 for the 2014 Kansas Master Teacher Award sponsored by Emporia State University.

Dinkel began his teaching career at Sheridan Elementary in 2007, where he is currently the 4th grade ELA teacher. He completed his Masters degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Kansas State University in 2010, and his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from KSU in 2006.

Dinkel has previously received the Horizon and Shining Star Awards as well as the 1420 KJCK Teacher of the Month Award.

The Kansas Master Teacher Award will be announced in April.
