Annual United Way Campaign Has Reached 60% Percent of This Years Goal

This years annual United Way campaign in Junction City and Geary County has reached 60 percent of their $175,000 goal.

Ailleen Cray, Executive Director of the Junction City-Geary County United united-way[1]Way, explained that she is currently still waiting on donations from some of the campaigns larger donors.

“Last year we achieved ultimately 87 percent of our $175,000 goal,” Cray said. “Obviously you can see we still have a ways to go and primarily that is my finalizing some of the contributions from some of our major employers here in the community.”

Cray said she is also still waiting on figures from some of the smaller business’s and individual donors as well.

“We definitely are looking forward to finalizing those figures and hoping that those are going to help us obviously get closer to our goal,” Cray said.

The hope is to get as close to that goal as possible because the United Way has add a few new agencies for 2014. Those agencies include the Delivering Change project through the Geary County Perinatal Coalition along with Housing and Credit Counseling and the Salvation Army.
