Update 8:45 a.m. from Kansas Highway Patrol – Road conditions deteriorating across parts of eastern Kansas during the morning drive time.
I-70 west of Topeka, westbound lanes at milepost 336 is currently shut down indefinitely. I-70 both directions between Topeka and Manhattan experiencing significant problems. If you don’t have to travel the area, try to avoid it.
All lanes of I-70 were re-opened by 10 a.m. due to rising temperatures melting the ice. As many as 75 slide offs including a couple accidents resulting in a medical transport were reported between Manhattan and Topeka.
