Tuesday will be the ribbon cutting for the Candlewood Suites hotel on Fort Riley.

The hotel is part of the Privatization of Army Lodging program. PAL was established as a means to revitalize on-post lodging facilities for Soldiers, their families and all government travelers.

Lend Lease (US) Public Partnerships is the exclusive asset manager, developer and design builder for the PAL program. InterContinental Hotels Group is the hotel operator.

Construction on the hotel began in July 2012 to meet the needs of today’s military traveler. The hotel features 100 guest rooms with 22 one bedroom suites with sleeper sofas and five ADA compliant guestrooms. Each suite comes with a fully equipped kitchen. Guests can also enjoy complimentary hot breakfast served daily, access to the hotel fitness center, business center and guest laundry facilities along with an outdoor pool.

The hotel is located at 6956 Jackson Avenue on post. The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled at 2 p.m. with a reception and hotel tours to follow.
