Betty Lee Gingrich, a resident of Chapman, KS, passed away at Memorial Hospital in Abilene, KS on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the age of 82.
Betty was born April 19, 1931 at rural Clay Center, KS to Leo and Marcine Hauserman Engert. She attended a country grade school, and graduated from Clay Center High School in 1948. She was married to Robert Alan Gingrich in 1948 at Manhattan, KS. They made their home in Clay Center, KS, and she was a homemaker and Mother to their children. They moved to California in 1972, and then they lived in Arkansas for 10 years. In 1999, they moved to Chapman when they built their home and resided until her husband passed away on October 15, 2007. She continued to reside in Chapman until she moved to Enterprise Estates Nursing Center in Enterprise, KS on July 3, 2013.
She is survived by three sons: Phillip Alan Gingrich in Los Angeles, CA, David Lee Gingrich in Oceanside, CA, Randy Jake Gingrich of Chapman, KS; one daughter Karen Marie Augustein of White City, KS; nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a half-brother Paul Henry Crane of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert.
