Icy Road Causes Rollover Accident on I-70

Two Fort Riley residents and one Junction City resident were involved in an injury crash this khpmorning on I70 according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. At mile marker 344, about eight miles west of Topeka, a 2007 Toyota Tacoma lost control on the icy roads and entered the center median. It then proceeded to to roll, enter the westbound lane of I70 where it was then struck by a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus.

The driver of the Toyota, Fernando Soto, 23, of Ft. Riley, was taken to Storemont Vail for his injuries. The passenger in the Toyota was Stephanie Monighan, 22, of Fort Riley, who was also taken to Storemont Vail for her injuries.

The driver of the Chrysler was Pamela Paxton, 49, of Junction City, and was not injured in the incident. All of the involved parties were wearing their safety restraints at the time of the accident.
