The ChristKindl Holiday Market is slated for this Saturday at Fort Riley.

This event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riley’s Conference Center, inspired by traditional German markets, features a wide variety of vendors and activities for children of all ages.

There will be returning favorites such as the old-fashioned carousel and a new feature train rides for families.

More than 50 vendors will have items for sale.  Visitors can enjoy a German themed menu including pork schnitzel, apple strudel, frikadelle, and gluhwein, a hot German wine at cost.

The Historical and Archaelogical Society of Fort Riley Tour of Home is Saturday from noon to four p.m. at various locations throughout Main Post.  The tour can be done on foot or by car. Tickets are available at fortrileytourofhomes@gmail.com, at the museum gift shop, or Gatherings on the Prairie. They are $10 in advance and $12 the day of the tour.

The Trees for Troops program provides free Christmas trees to active duty Soldiers and their families. Trees for Troops offered by Outdoor Recreation will begin passing out the trees at nine a.m. on Saturday.
