Junction City police are conducting a death investigation at 110 W. 16th Street, Apt. 2 on the city’s north side.

One man is dead while another sustained minor injuries, but declined medical treatment.

Police detective Jeff Childs said police and EMS were dispatched to the W. 16th address at 1:27 a.m. in reference to a home invasion where a subject had been shot. Upon arrival they made contact with the two victims. One was transported to Geary Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Childs noted an autopsy will be done today ( Tuesday ) in Kansas City.

Childs said the two victims lived at the 110 W. 16th Street Apt. 2 location.    He said police are following leads in the case.
